No qualifications or PPE required

This training course is delivered on-site at your location or at a training centre location and typically lasts half a day, No formal qualifications are needed to attend, making it accessible to all experience levels. Group sizes are kept small, usually between 6–10 delegates, to ensure focused, hands-on learning. Delegates are not required to bring any PPE for this training course

Module 1: Your Environmental Responsibilities

This module highlights why environmental awareness and energy efficiency matter at work—and your role in making a difference.

  • Your responsibilities under key laws like the Environmental Protection Act 1990

  • How legislation, taxes, and enforcement affect your workplace

  • The benefits of going green, from saving costs to protecting the planet

Module 2: Understanding Environmental Risks

This module explores the key threats facing our environment today, including:

  • Climate change and its global impact

  • The role of greenhouse gases

  • Air and water pollution

  • The challenge of managing waste materials

  • Why sustainability matters now more than ever

You’ll gain a clear understanding of how these risks affect both the planet and the workplace—and what can be done to reduce them.

Module 3: Environmental Management

Learn how organisations can reduce their environmental impact through:

  • Effective Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

  • Setting clear sustainability targets

  • Training staff to support eco-friendly practices

This module shows how to turn good intentions into real, measurable action.

Module 4: Boosting Energy Efficiency

This module explores how workplaces can cut energy use and reduce costs by making smart changes. You’ll learn about:

  • Common barriers to energy efficiency

  • Who’s responsible for making it happen

  • Energy-saving methods and simple behavioural changes

  • Key areas like lighting, air conditioning, and insulation

  • The role of Building Management Systems (BMS)

  • How it all ties into Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Module 5: Raising Environmental Awareness

  • Make your efforts stick with practical tips for lasting impact

Assessment

Environmental Awareness – Course Assessment

At the end of the course, learners will complete a theory-based assessment to confirm their understanding of key environmental topics and workplace responsibilities.

The assessment includes multiple-choice questions on:

  • Personal and organisational environmental responsibilities

  • Risks to the environment, including pollution and climate change

  • Environmental management systems and goal setting

  • Energy efficiency and sustainable workplace practices

  • Waste reduction, water saving, and pollution prevention

  • Effective awareness-raising strategies

This assessment ensures learners are ready to support and contribute to environmental initiatives in their workplace. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Environmental Awareness Training.
