This training course is delivered on-site at your location or at a training centre location and typically lasts a day, No formal qualifications are needed to attend, making it accessible to all experience levels. Group sizes are kept small, usually between 3–12 delegates, to ensure focused, hands-on learning. Delegates are required to bring PPE for this training course

  • Explore the role of guidance from PASMA, HSE, and manufacturers

Module 3: Accessing Tower Information & Instruction

Learn how to find, read, and follow essential safety information provided with your tower equipment.

  • Recognise the importance of manufacturer instructions and tower manuals

  • Understand signage, labelling, and equipment specifications

  • Know where to find and how to follow setup guides and safety notices

  • Learn how to use tower-specific information to ensure safe assembly and use

Module 4: Tower Assembly & Dismantling Techniques

Discover safe, step-by-step methods for assembling, modifying, and dismantling mobile access towers.

  • Learn safe tower assembly methods, including 3T (Through-the-Trap) and Advanced Guard Rail (AGR)techniques

  • Understand pre-use inspections and stability checks

  • Step-by-step process for safe assembly, alteration, and dismantling

  • Identify the correct tools, PPE, and team coordination required

Module 5: Site Safety & Working Environment

Learn how to assess your surroundings and set up towers safely in different work environments.

  • Assess ground conditions, weather, and nearby hazards

  • Position towers safely and avoid overhead obstructions

  • Identify and control environmental risks (e.g. wind, traffic, poor lighting)

  • Understand the impact of indoor vs. outdoor tower use

Theory Assessment:

A multiple-choice test covering:

  • Legal responsibilities and safety standards

  • Hazard awareness and risk control

  • Assembly methods and equipment guidance

  • Site safety and environmental considerations

Practical Assessment:

Under supervision, learners must:

  • Carry out pre-use checks and inspections

  • Safely assemble and dismantle a mobile access tower (using 3T or AGR methods)

  • Demonstrate correct use of PPE

  • Show ability to identify hazards and position the tower safely

Successful learners will receive a Certificate of Competence, demonstrating their ability to work safely and effectively with mobile access towers.
