This training course is delivered on-site at your location or at a training centre location and typically lasts half a day, No formal qualifications are needed to attend, making it accessible to all experience levels. Group sizes are kept small, usually between 6–12 delegates, to ensure focused, hands-on learning. Delegates are not required to bring any PPE for this training course

Module 1: Understanding the Risks

This module sets the scene by showing just how common and costly slips, trips and falls are in the workplace. You’ll explore the real-world impact of these incidents and who is responsible for preventing them.

Module 2: Spot the Risks Before They Cause Harm

In this module, you’ll learn how to take a proactive approach to preventing slips, trips and falls through effective risk assessment. We’ll break down the process step by step, so you know exactly what to look for and how to respond.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand what a risk assessment is and why it matters

  • Identify common hazards in your work environment

  • Decide who might be at risk and how accidents could happen

  • Choose the right control measures using the hierarchy of control

  • Record your findings and comply with reporting laws, including RIDDOR

  • Keep your assessments up to date and useful through regular reviews

This module empowers you to take control of safety by recognising risks early and acting before accidents happen.

Module 3: Simple Steps to Prevent Slips and Trips

This module shows you how everyday actions and smart workplace design can stop slips and trips before they happen. You’ll explore practical ways to keep walkways safe and workspaces clean.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify the most common causes of slips and trips

  • Tackle hazards like wet floors, loose cables, and poor lighting

  • Improve cleaning routines and housekeeping habits

  • Choose the right flooring, signage, and layout for safety

  • Understand the role of proper footwear in preventing accidents

Module 4: Preventing Falls – Taking Safety to the Next Level

Falls can lead to serious injuries, but with the right knowledge and precautions, they’re highly preventable. This module focuses on how to work safely at height and minimise fall risks in any environment.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify common causes of falls in the workplace

  • Understand your responsibilities under the Work at Height Regulations

  • Apply practical ways to reduce fall risks in day-to-day tasks

  • Use ladders and step equipment safely and correctly

Whether you’re working at ground level or above, this module gives you the tools to stay safe and steady at every step.

To complete the course, learners will take a short theory-based assessment designed to reinforce their understanding of key safety principles. The assessment consists of multiple-choice questions covering hazard awareness, risk assessments, fall prevention strategies, and legal responsibilities. This ensures participants can confidently apply what they’ve learned in real working environments. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate of training, demonstrating their commitment to creating a safer, more compliant workplace.
