Module 1: Why Warehouse Safety Matters

This module sets the scene by showing why warehouse safety isn’t optional—it’s essential. You’ll explore the most common causes of injury, how they impact your team and your business, and the legal responsibilities every employer and employee must understand. Learn how risk assessments, smart equipment selection, and proper training can reduce incidents, boost productivity, and keep everyone safer on-site.

Module 2: Spot the Hazards, Stay in Control

Warehouses come with more than just physical risks—health hazards can be just as serious. This module covers how to recognise and control risks like noise, vibration, asbestos, legionella, stress, and even display screen use. You’ll also explore COSHH, the right use of PPE, and the importance of first aid readiness. It’s everything you need to help create a healthier, safer working environment.

Module 3: Everyday Hazards, Life-Saving Controls

Some of the biggest risks in a warehouse are also the most common. This module focuses on preventing slips, trips, and falls, managing floor contamination, and spotting everyday electrical hazards before they become serious. You’ll also cover essential fire safety measures and what to do in an emergency—giving you the tools to create a safer space for everyone, every day.

Module 4: Safe Lifting, Smart Working

Lifting, shifting, and working at height are everyday tasks—but they come with serious risks if not managed properly. This module dives into the dangers of manual and mechanical handling in warehouses, showing you how to spot risks early, carry out effective assessments, and apply practical safety measures. You’ll also learn about your responsibilities when using equipment and the essentials of safe work at height—because every lift should be safe, and every worker protected.

Module 5: Vehicle Safety - Keep It Moving, Keep It Safe

With constant movement of vehicles, people, and deliveries, warehouses can quickly become high-risk zones. This module shows you how to keep pedestrians and drivers safe, design clear traffic routes, and manage hazards like reversing, loading, and coupling. You’ll also cover parking protocols, fall prevention, and the importance of regular vehicle checks. It’s everything you need to keep operations smooth—and everyone safe on site.

Module 6: Site Safety – Store Smart, Work Safe

Safe storage is the backbone of a safe warehouse. In this module, you’ll learn how to use pallets and storage systems correctly, reduce risks with automated systems, and understand why accidents happen—so you can prevent them. You’ll also discover how to safely handle and store hazardous substances, helping you keep your site organised, efficient, and injury-free.

At the end of the course, learners will complete a theory-based assessment to ensure they’ve understood the key principles of warehouse safety.

The assessment includes multiple-choice questions covering:

  • Common warehouse hazards and how to control them

  • Legal responsibilities and risk assessments

  • Manual and mechanical handling safety

  • Working at height and vehicle movement

  • Fire, electrical, and slip/trip hazard awareness

  • Safe storage and hazardous substances

The assessment is designed to reinforce learning and build confidence in applying safety practices in a real warehouse environment. Upon successful completion, learners receive a Certificate of Warehouse Safety Training, demonstrating their awareness and commitment to a safer workplace.
